Armour & Protection

Armour design, integration and manufacturing for military platforms and protected spaces—from development through qualification and production.

MILITARY ARMOUR SYSTEMS

Protection engineered as part of the platform.

DEW designs, integrates and manufactures armour to meet customer-specific requirements. Its experience spans light, medium and heavy armoured vehicles, tactical wheeled vehicles, MRAP-class platforms and the M113 family.

The work extends beyond individual modules. Vehicle geometry, joints, mounting points, weight and coverage all shape an integrated armour solution. DEW works with vehicle manufacturers and end users to address those requirements.

Design

Ceramic, composite and advanced-material armour solutions developed around the protection requirement.

Integration

Platform-specific coverage, including the interfaces between panels and at mounting points.

Manufacturing

Production supported by engineering, qualification and quality processes.

Protection applications

Discuss your platform, operating environment, weight limits and protection requirements with DEW. Program-specific requirements determine the solution and its qualification.

DEVELOPMENT & EVALUATION

Testing informs the design.

DEW’s in-house ballistic range supports armour research and development. Its published material describes evaluation of ballistic, mine and blast threats, with protection, weight and cost considered together.

Qualification is tied to the specified platform and program requirements. The armour brochure outlines DEW’s approach to integration, panel interfaces and mounting-point protection.

ARMOURED SHELTERS

Protection for deployable workspaces.

DEW’s armoured-shelter brochure describes ballistic protection integrated into the shelter structure, with modular, replaceable armour panels. Shelters can be tailored to the required size, function and method of employment.

Published mission applications include command posts, communications, field offices, ambulance roles and mobile repair teams. The brochure provides further information on configurations and protection options.
